The witches were powerless, the wizards debated various options but without a result, feegles unable to find anything to steal that would hold back the inevitable. Vimes had the watch post guards and The Assassin Guide hid in every shadow but death had an appointment to keep and nothing could delay it. The loss was ours to share.
